Just rambling

Today has been such a beautiful day, but so hot! I love summer, but I think I had much rather have fall about now.

I spent my morning grocery shopping and putting things away. As I did this, I thought....hhhhmmmmm....our garden is not doing real well this year, so I am going to start stocking up on the canned vegetables and fruits so that we will have them this winter. I also plan to stocking up on meats and anything that I can freeze for a reasonable length of time.

The afternoon has thus far been spent shucking and silking corn that we bought from someone selling corn, fixing peppers from our garden to put into the freezer, slicing up squash to put into the freezer, and cutting up fruit for dinner. I am positive that my goats and pigs will be happy with the feast of peelings and shucks!

My son is at his father's house this weekend, so there are no home school classes going. Funny, I miss not having classes. Yes, we do have school in the summer and on weekends. Summer and weekends are much more relaxed than a typical school season. All we do in the summer is grammar and math. On weekends, we tend to research whatever interests us on that day. I love to home school my son, despite the fact that he is difficult to teach. I learn and re-learn so much myself. I am like a sponge and soak up anything and everything.

Please forgive me for always jumping from one subject to another. Both of my children and myself have ADHD and this can at times create a problem. We will be doing really well in a subject or on a study and then something else grabs our attention and off we go to study that. It is the same when I am cleaning...I will be doing one thing and then I think of something else I need to get done and off I go to do that. Needless to say, not everything gets done when it should.
